Camões, I.P. offers grants for studying Portuguese in specific situations, most notably in the areas of language and co-operation.
The Camões, I.P. scholarship programme is intended to support and promote:
- Study and research of the Portuguese language and culture;
- Scientific teaching and training of Portuguese as a second language;
- Teaching and advanced learning in the area of conference translation and interpretation.
Portuguese Language and Culture Summer Courses
These scholarships offered at Portuguese universities and language institutes endorsed by Camões, I.P. are for foreign students and Portuguese citizens residing abroad who wish to improve their language skills.
Portuguese Language and Culture Annual Courses
These scholarships offered at Portuguese universities and language institutes endorsed by Camões, I.P. are for foreign students and Portuguese citizens residing abroad who wish to improve their language skills.
Fernão Mendes Pinto Programme
These scholarships are for graduates and undergraduates (either foreigners or Portuguese) involved in scientific training or professional projects in the area of Portuguese as a foreign language at Portuguese language centres, Camões, I.P, Camões, I.P. university and college courses and foreign institutes that have agreements with Camões, I.P.
Research Programme
These scholarships are for Portuguese and foreign teachers and researchers living abroad and wishing to study in Portugal in specialised areas of the Portuguese language and culture, including Master’s and PhD courses at Portuguese universities.
Pessoa Programme
These scholarships are for those involved with the Camões, I.P./Portuguese Studies Academic Chair and Portuguese departments at universities and foreign research institutes. It aims for training and research projects concerning the Portuguese language and culture.
Vieira Programme
These grants are for foreign and Portuguese graduates living abroad who are involved in training and/or advanced learning projects in the area of translating and conference interpreting.
