By understanding ethics as a set of rules to guide human relationships within a particular social community, Camões, I.P. has adopted the concept of deontology, in other words ethics that are aimed at the orientation of a professional activity.
Ethics within an institution result, first of all, from the behaviour of all the employees and managers. Thus, the Camões, I.P. board of director realised the necessity to prepare and publish an ethics code that adequately reflects the values and standards of conduct for those in positions of responsibility, along with the employees and other collaborators.
The ethics code is the basis for the creation of an ethics committee whose function is to lay down the procedures and regulations deemed necessary to be implemented according to the ethics code, as well as to dispel any doubts that may arise regarding its interpretation or in cases of omissions.
