The 35th Uruguay International Film Festival takes place from the 6th to the 15th of April 2017 at the Cinemateca Uruguaia in Montevideo. The event will include the screening of eleven Portuguese films (produced or co-produced), some of which are featured in the festival’s leading categories.
Teresa Villaverde’s film Colo is nominated in the International Feature Films category while Correspondências by Rita Azevedo Lopes and A Cidade Onde Envelheço by Marília Rocha are nominated in the Ibero-American Feature Film category.
The festival also includes Ama-san by Claudia Varejão, Cruzeiro Seixas - As Cartas do Rei Artur by Claudia Rita Oliveira, Treblinka by Sérgio Tréffaut, O Cinema, Manoel de Oliveira e Eu by João Botelho, Como Me Apaixonei por Eva Ras by André Gil Mata and the short films Ascensão by Pedro Peralta, Setembro by Leonor Noivo and the group production You Are Everything by Lena Geller.
About 200 films from 47 countries will be screened during the Uruguay International Film Festival, one of the biggest events in the Latin American calendar and one that has been supported by Camões, I.P. and the Portuguese embassy in Montevideo for over ten years.
